About Me

Hey, I’m Kristi!

I’m so happy you’re here! I spent so much time daydreaming about family vacations and planning where in the world I want to go, my husband gave me a theme song: “Daydreaming” by Paramore. Not kidding at all! I decided it was time to take my wandering heart and write about all our adventures. I’m a mom of four ages ranging from 9 to 21, married for 16 years and counting. Welcome to Wandering Kristi!

I share inspiration, practical steps, and advice for your next adventure!

When reading my blog you’ll get my favorite travel tips, practical advice for planning, and itineraries for making the most of your trip! I focus on activities for the whole family, bringing a unique perspective to traveling with a larger family and children of all ages. I believe it’s important to give our children a wide variety of activities to do and experiences to encourage them to live life to its fullest.

You’ll also find topics about simplicity and intentional living

While on a weekend getaway with our family and friends, my husband and I were floating across the lake. Just paddling along and enjoying the moment. We now reference this as our “lake talk”. During this lake talk, we expressed the need to slow down. How our lives had become a series of activities and work and what were we doing in between all that but barely breathing just to move on to the next thing on our to-do list. Our journey, that talk, lead us to simplify our life, look at our priorities and focus on what matters to us most. We’re still a work in progress, but it was this thought that was the final push for me to write this blog. We wanted to travel more as a family!

When I’m not planning our next big adventure, you can find me shuffling kids off to one of their many activities. With 3 boys at home, our days are full of football, baseball, soccer, scouting and more. I’m a dance teacher and PR/Marketing Director for a dance studio in my little corner of the world.
